Grandpa Taught Me To READ!!!

Monday, June 25th, 2012

OK, I can’t really read, but I did get a couple of books, and Grandpa did wear a funny hat. Unfortunately, as you probably know by now, Daddy is a dufus, and took a few out of focus pictures. Go Daddy!

Thanks for the books, and the hat and T-shirt Grandpa. See you in Seattle!

Grandpa Mickey

Tolstoy anyone?

Let's go read.

Wait, that's not Hemmingway.

What have we here?

I'm a big boy, I can do it.

Dane's actually laughing here.

Feed me Grandpa.

See you next time!

Unedited Dane, doing what he does. It’s just because…

Cool Hand Dane

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

Daddy recently watched Cool Hand Luke.  This is one of those films that truly earns the 4 star rating, unlike our studios namesake, On Golden Pond.  (I actually haven’t seen it, but I’m sure it’s garbage.  Now Hangover, there’s a movie.)  Paul Newman belts out a banjo great when his mama dies and it made me think of a cover Jack Johnson does in concert.  He blends the diddy into other tunes.  Our editor tried this and failed.  Summer.

The edit of the song, much like everything coming out of Golden Pond Studios, is junk.  For now, we’ll blame it on summer.  At least we admit our mistakes?

Coming soon:  On The Road With Dane! – a Jack Kerouac influenced journey.  Stay tuned.

Balki Bartokomous and Cousin Larry

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

The cousins got together yesterday, as the Clemons brood spent a bit of face time with Daneger.  The little ones, as little ones do, had a good time.  There were lots of laughs, hugs, kisses, smiles, belly aches, and Dane-humpings (he likes to hump stuff).  Below is the photographic evidence of the good times and Aunti Erika spoilings.

Note:  We apologize for the blur in the slideshow.  We’re trying to bring you the best content possible from Golden Pond studios and will work on the problem.  (That was blog-speak for, Daddy’s tired, wanted to throw some stuff up on the blog, but doesn’t feel like messing with this new slideshow program tonight.  That’s stuffs tricky. ;-})

Coming soon:  On the Road with Dane.  It should be in the neighborhood of the bee’s knees.

The Summer of Dane and Daddy!

Friday, June 15th, 2012

Summer is almost upon us. Daddy’s last day of school is Wednesday, with the official first day of summer being June 21, but Dane and his old guy are getting an early start.

The summer of Dane and Daddy is going to be one for the history books. Everyday, something new is around the corner. With each morning, a start of a brand new adventure is upon us.

Morning Stare

Mommy just woke up. Dane doesn't look it, but he's happy.

Dane likes his horse.

I'm in a pool!

Vroom vroom

Dane and water

Let's get this thing filled Daddy!

Oh, yeah!

I, my friends, am a stinker!

Long Poem ~ Long Video

Wednesday, June 6th, 2012

T.S. Elliot was a boss:

Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.
Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden. My words echo
Thus, in your mind.
But to what purpose
Disturbing the dust on a bowl of rose-leaves
I do not know.
Other echoes
Inhabit the garden. Shall we follow?
Quick, said the bird, find them, find them,
Round the corner. Through the first gate,
Into our first world, shall we follow
The deception of the thrush? Into our first world.
There they were, dignified, invisible,
Moving without pressure, over the dead leaves,
In the autumn heat, through the vibrant air,
And the bird called, in response to
The unheard music hidden in the shrubbery,
And the unseen eyebeam crossed, for the roses
Had the look of flowers that are looked at.
There they were as our guests, accepted and accepting.
So we moved, and they, in a formal pattern,
Along the empty alley, into the box circle,
To look down into the drained pool.
Dry the pool, dry concrete, brown edged,
And the pool was filled with water out of sunlight,
And the lotos rose, quietly, quietly,
The surface glittered out of heart of light,
And they were behind us, reflected in the pool.
Then a cloud passed, and the pool was empty.
Go, said the bird, for the leaves were full of children,
Hidden excitedly, containing laughter.
Go, go, go, said the bird: human kind
Cannot bear very much reality.
Time past and time future
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.

We can’t believe that Dane was once so small. He’s grown, but darn it, he’s still as cute!

(Please disregard the dufus talking behind the camera!)

Introducing Golden Pond Studios

Friday, June 1st, 2012

That’s right, Golden Pond Studios is open for ‘bidness’. We’re ready to pump out the gold for your ocular pleasures.

Our latest offering, coming on the heels of the previously released July 4th short, showcases Dane and Grandpa spending a little quality time together, a Montana state of mind.

Look at Dane. He was only 4 months old. Time and all that.

Enjoy, and get ready for the 4th!

(Note: A previous version of this video with “You Make Me Feel So Young” by Frank Sinatra was blocked by the man. Always tryin’ to keep us down.)

july 4 is around the corner.  it’s only a month away.

today’s video takes us back to dane’s first july 4 festivities.  he was smaller, couldn’t walk, could barely roll over.  there’s not a lot of dane in the video, but a lot of family, and a lot of good times.

as Caesar Rodney stated, before he so passionately signed his “John Hancock” to the Declaration of Independence, “Let the good times roll!”

have a great summer. (more dane tomorrow.)
