Funky Christmas

Funk overcame my soul. I’m not sure how it happened, but it did. The music choice for these videos has elicited a few frowns, but when the funk calls, the soul listens! Ya dig?

Christmas 2012 was particularly exciting because the newest addition to the blog, and our family, was 5 DAYS OLD. Can you believe that. We had only been home from the hospital with the little guy for a couple of days when Santa decided to bring a bunch of toys, mainly for Dane, to the house. But wait, Gavin will someday be the “owner” of those toys, only to have them ripped out of his hands by his annoyed big brother. (Wait, was that a psychological regression right there?)

In any case, Mommy, Daddy, Dane, Gavin, Grandpa Mickey, Nana, and Uncle Joshie, all celebrated Christmas On Golden Pond. It was nice. We ate ham. We drank Grandpa Mickey’s Christmas present (there’s still a little left Grandpa Mickey!). The boys were showered in love and presents. The gifts given by all were truly great, as Dane is still playing with 98% of them to this day.

The greatest gifts, we are so fortunate to be bestowed upon us. Of course, the boys are the best gifts we could ask for, but also the gift of family is one that Devan and I are thankful for each and every day. The time and significant burdens that everyone endured to help us welcome Gavin into this world are gifts that will be with us for all of our days. We thank all of you and wish you all know how truly blessed we feel to have our families in our lives.

And now, we give you, “It’s A Major Award! A Funky Christmas Story”
