A Day With Dane

I (Daddy) always look forward to Saturdays. Sure I am free from 150 adolescents, where the scent of puberty is stronger than the mating boquet of the Serengeti, and I get to surf some mornings. But most of all, I get to spend my day with my favorite little guy. I’m thinking that it’s pretty obvious from the millions of pictures peppering this blog, that that guy is Dane, aka. Daneger, Dane Dane, Bubba, Pumpkin Pie, Punk-a-poos.

On Saturdays, Mommy sleeps in a bit and Daddy brings Dane to her, upon waking from his counting of sheep, to feast. Unfortunately, Mommy wouldn’t let us get a picture of Dane’s first breakfast, so here’s one of Dane crawling to his toys for the first time in the day.

Let's Play!

Dane then moved on to a second breakfast of a fragrant blend of organic bananas and pumpkin accompanied by applesauce mixed with rice ceral.

Feed me Seymour!

More playtime follows breakfast, and this is where the gloves really come off. Dane plays with his toys, and repeatedly crawls into the kitchen, daring fate with continual attempts to stand tall over the tile floor. No Daneger, you could fall!

After a time spent playing with Mommy and Daddy, Dane takes his morning nap.  We didn’t want to risk getting a picture of that and wake the little guy up, so here Dane is after his nap.

I'm ready to play again.

Of course, Dane’s diaper was a bit wet, so he had to be changed.  He’s gotten a bit “slippery” on the changing table, so anything to keep him still helps.  Here Dane watches his baby monitor.

Is "Big Brother" always watching?

I'm all clean.

Next up, it’s time for Dane to have lunch.  If memory serves correct, Dane had a blend of organic apples and corn, accompanied with peach chunks for his dining pleasure.

Hey, you're the one feeding me.

The family changed and prepared to run errands.  We really wouldn’t be a WASP family if we didn’t make it to Home Depot every couple of weeks.

Let's Go!

Fresh and Easy was our next stop, where Dan’e favorite applesauce and peaches are sold.  Carnitas anyone?

Where's the beer?

Dane recently outgrew his carseat.  He’s now on to bigger and better things.  This new carseat has a cup-holder, as mentioned in a previous post, and looks and feels VERY comfortable.

Check out my new ride.

After errands are ran, we return home to give Dane a bit more play time.  As you can imagine, he’s a handful!

I love to stand. My daddy loves unicorns, poetry, and long walks in the park.

Play time was fun! Now let's go SPLASH-SPLASH!

There was another nap in there somewhere, but it wasn’t captured.  Whoops.  It’s on to bathtime.  This is a daily ritual for the little guy.  It gives Dane a little extra Daddy and Dane time and Mommy gets her Calgon moment.  (Serenity now.)

Here I come!

Now, this is fun.

Rubber duckies are fun.

Now it’s bed time?

Until next time…
